!wrutteb as a companion piece for Walton's "Facade", the piece consists of an overture, thrteen French poems by Jean-Thierry Boisseau and two encores. Scored for narrator with flute, Bb clarinet, alto saxophone, C trumpet, percussion (snare drum, castagnettes, triangle, bass drum, suspended cymbale, 3 temple blocks and 2 wood blocks) and violoncello. The poems speak of famous couples and what might have happened if their meetings had been different.
